Brian doesn't state whether the checkpoints only work in BIDS, or also work with the SQL Server job engine/schedule.

Nice video, with some basic example. The same could have been better explained with a Container which in turn has a few tasks inside it and then maybe the failparent config. could have been aslo covered.

Excellant video. What error do you see when this is run from dtexec? We are not being able to see errors from SQL Server that show up in the output window, i.e. a Foreign Key failure.

You can open the xml file also and show to user just to know that what is written there and admin person can look it for troubleshooting.

hi can any one explain how to use chekpoints in sequence container in 2008 (in sequence container,if the first task succeded and second is failed,bt after after implenting checkpoints the first task in container shud nt run while executing the container)
