Wish I would have known this when I was employed. Good tip.

The one thing I don’t like about the normal link is that it comes up in the existing window. By using a javascript event in the URL action, you can open a new window and populate it. It makes it much better for viewing multiple external links at the same time without losing the main report window. For instance…. ="javascript:void(window.open('http://www.chefscatalog.com/catalog/product.aspx?&item="&Fields!item.Value &"'))" I used this to open a product page on our website passing in an item number from my dataset. In VS, this will not work in the preview pane, but it will when deployed.

Please supply an updated version addressing RS2008 as the UI is significantly different. This video did help, though. Thanks.

Not enough explaination of things. Too short, not enough detail

Paul Brandt on 8/17/2010
I was hoping this would also show an easy way to format the column to look like a hyperlink. This is the part of using hyperlinks I have found to be somewhat time consuming.

Good information. Don't whisper into the microphone. You need speak loud and clear. Thanks!

Daniel McGivney on 10/22/2010

Cool tip.

Rich on 7/6/2011
Helpful video, thanks. Would be good to note that there's no native support for "display as hyperlink", that you have to manually change the font to blue & underlined to display properly. Thanks

Simple command, but very handy. Voice-over is very soft, and difficult to hear even at full volume; you might want to increase the record volume a bit for this speaker.

Bruce Bealer on 7/6/2011
Speaker has a soft voice. It would have been nice to see how to add a hyperlink that is not part of the data

manjeet on 7/6/2011

No point in showing the "Link" column and delete.

Talha on 7/12/2011
Nice. Never would have figured that out on my own.

Steve Harris on 7/12/2011
