Top notch. I appreciate the extra detail of pointing out that an indexed view is like having a set of triggers on the source table(s) which build a table for the view.

Why do the number of reads decrease on subsequent executions that use the indexed view (unique clustered index or the non-clustered index)? Are those reads from pages in memory? I'd appreciate an answer, or where to look for one. Thanks. DrDianaDee@verizon.net
